DEREK DOOLEY MBE
VICE – PRESIDENT 1988-2008

As a Vice-President of the Sheffield Cricket League for 20 years, it was important that the League be represented at Derek Dooley’s funeral. I was therefore both honoured and privileged to be present at the Cathedral on Friday 14th March and be one of the 800 in attendance to pay their respects. It is doubtful if there has ever been anyone from the city of Sheffield who has been so well liked and respected as Derek Dooley and the 2000 or so waiting outside the Cathedral were further proof of this.

As fine an example of a sportsman and human being as you would ever wish to meet.
